Head and Neck Restraints

MSR staff has attended a number of rally crashes in which the occupants have presented with neck pain. In many cases the only way to exclude cervical fractures is by X - Ray, CT Scan or MRI Scan. Our staff would encourage crews to investigate the use of approved Head and Neck restraints such as the HANS ® and Leatt Brace. If you are considering competing in international FIA events, currently the only approved device is the HANS ®. Wearing one of these devices significantly decrease the potential for serious neck injury in crashes such as head on.

Rally of Indonesia

MSR has developed a relationship with the organisers of Rally of Indonesia to cross share medical and rescue information and systems. At the Coates Rally of Queensland this year the Chief Medical Officer of Rally of Indonesia, Dr Nuralim will be joining us to witness the MSR operation.
