Coates Rally Of Queensland

The Motorsport Safety & Team head to Mooloolaba for the running of the third round of the NEC Australian Rally Championship, the Coates Rally of Queensland.

The event commences with a ceremonial start at Mooloolaba on Friday night and then moves to the forests around the Imbil area for the competition on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday there are 10 special stages varying in distance from 3.07 Kilometres to 21.11 Kilometres. A total of 8 First Intervention vehicles will be used both days.

On Sunday the crews front up again for 9 special stages varying in distance from 3.07 Kilometres to 21.11 Kilometres.

The regular team will be joined by NSW Paramedical Rescue Officers Darren Hoshke and Kevin McSweeney in addition to Queensland Paramedics Scott Kennedy and Dean Hutcheson.

We have been supported by Kathy Woods again whom has assembled a great team of fire staff to join the team again for the 2006 event.

Instead of a donation to the local brigade they have requested a donation to the Burns Unit with Kathy handing over a cheque next week.

Three of the First Intervention Vehicles will be carrying specialist rescue equipment.

The crew is hoping for a quiet weekend with strong competition amongst the classic, QRC and ARC competitors.
